North Western Railway started functioning from 2002 onwards. North Western Railway Zone was cut out of 2 divisions each from Northern Railways andWestern Railways. The development of this zone alongside five other new zones was initially affirmed by Railway department in 1996 and establishment stone for this zone was laid in 1996 by the then P.M of India.
How did North Western Railway extended?
The driving force for arrangement of the North Western Railway Zone accompanied the Notification by the Indian Government wherein it was chosen that North Western Railway with its purview over some of the existing divisions were to become effective from 2002 onwards.Comprising of four divisions, this railroad zone has a sum of approximately 600 stations covering a sum of approximately 5000 kms out of which 2650 Kms are BG Line and 2652 are MG Line.The aggregate track kilometers of this railroad, notwithstanding, are 6656 kms.The four divisions of North Western Railway Zone which were initially some portion of Western Railway were a piece of Northern Railway.The aggregate number of trains managed by North Western Railway adds up to approximately 465 out of which Broad Gauge trains all out 265 and MG trains absolute 168(please note that all datas are approx figures).
