Just like Telecom Maintainer, an Electrical Signal maintainer also has to deal with technical work. Often they are also referred to as a Technician (Signal). What is the eligibility criteria for ESM recruitment?: Qualification for different grades is also different. For Grade II you need a metric level education. Grade 3 requires a degree of BSc degree. Having diploma certification will bring you extra preference.
What is the career path of ESM?: The promotion of an "ESM" happens early on to the first grade but later it is very slow. The first three grades comes with the stipend of Rs.1900, 2400 and 2800 respectively. During fourth promotion you may get the post of a Junior Engineer (JE). At last you will be posted as a Senior Section Engineer (SSE) in the signal department of Indian Railways.
What is the selection procedure of ESM recruitment?: Actually RRB conducts 2 different exams for grades (2 and 3). You have to pass respective exam ans then again pass a medical test. After written and medical test, if you qualify then you will be posted as an Electrical Signal maintainer (ESM).
What is the salary package of ESM?: The fixed salary is Rs.5,200/- to Rs.20,200/-. Apart from this, Rs. 2400/- will be provided as grade pay.
What are the allowances provided to Electrical Signal maintainer (ESM)?: DA / TA / HRA
